Back in September, Carrie Underwood released her highly anticipated Christmas album, My Gift. Now that the season is upon us, she created an Instagram filter that picks your favorite song on the album.
Earlier today, she posted a video to Twitter of her using the filter. For her, the filter picked the song Hallelujah. In the tweet, she encouraged her fans to hop on Instagram to try the filter for themselves.
“What My Gift song are you?” Underwood asks. “Head over to my Instagram to try out the new My Gift filter under the effects tab!”
Underwood Fans Using the ‘My Gift’ Filter
Her fans certainly did not disappoint. Carrie Underwood’s Twitter is now flooded with responses to her Tweet of fans using the My Gift filter on Instagram. Underwood reposted one lucky young fan’s video of him lip-syncing her song “Let There Be Peace.”
“And it picked one of his favorites from the album,” said what seems like the young fan’s mother. The video supports this claim as the young boy nails all the lyrics. Carrie Underwood reposted the tweet with an emoji of a dove carrying an olive branch.
Plenty of other fans posted their favorite Underwood songs off of My Gift as well, and Underwood reposted many of them. She reposted one fan’s hilarious video of him lip-syncing “Hallelujah,” the same song Underwood sang in her original post. She reposted the Tweet with an emoji of an Angel.
“This is my favorite filter now,” the fan said in the Tweet. “Is it because I am seriously obsessed with Christmas AND Carrie Underwood? Probably.”
Carrie Underwood Christmas Special on HBO
Starting December 3, Carrie Underwood will air her Christmas Special on HBO Max. The special will feature music from My Gift, sung by Underwood accompanied by a live band and an orchestra. John Legend, the R&B superstar, will join Underwood to sing the song “Hallelujah” that he wrote for the album. According to the My Gift filter, “Hallelujah” is Underwood’s favorite song on the album.
“Just like the album, I hope this special will help bring some much-needed joy and become part of the soundtrack to people’s holiday festivities this year as it streams throughout the season and beyond,” Underwood said in a press release.
