Carrie Underwood knows how intense being a mother can be. While balancing being a massive country star and running her own company, she is also a mom to two kids.
So it’s with a smile and true intentions that the 38-year-old singer sends a wholesome message to her fellow moms. On Mother’s Day, May 9, Underwood posted on Instagram wishing moms and her fans the best.
“I hope all you mamas out there are taking a break today to enjoy some me-time! #HappyMothersDay #ChooseYou @caliabycarrie,” Carrie Underwood wrote.
We can only echo Underwood’s sentiment. Moms deserve much more than one day of appreciation, but we at Outsider hope all mothers are at least able to relax today.
In the photo, Underwood is rocking pig-tails as well as clothes from her fitness apparel line, Calia by Carrie Underwood. The brand was started in 2015, and is a collaboration with major athletics chain Dick’s Sporting Goods.
To no surprise, thousands of comments shared their thanks or “Happy Mother’s Day” messages in return.
Carrie Underwood Reflects on Mother’s Day
Speaking to her label Universal Music Group, Carrie Underwood spoke about her feelings for Mother’s Day this year. The “Jesus Take the Wheel” singer is the mom of Michael and Jacob Bryan, who are six and two years old respectively.
Her traditions for the holiday are somewhat loose, mostly because her childhood didn’t feature any distinct year-by-year activities.
“We don’t really have like any Mother’s Day traditions,” she said. “I feel like I remember me and Dad making breakfast for Mom like once as a kid. I’m pretty sure we just made a giant mess in the kitchen and we never did that again.”
She added that a lack of expectations has never left her disappointed. According to Underwood, her husband, Mike Fisher, is especially good at gift-giving.
“I obviously don’t expect anything, but my husband’s really good at getting presents from quote-unquote Isaiah. It’s really sweet because he likes to bring me things,” Carrie Underwood said. “He’s such a sweet little guy, and anytime he’s outside, he’ll pick me flowers and things. So, I’m like, ‘You’re learning. You’ve already got me wrapped around your finger, and then you do stuff like that, and it’s even more so.’”
We can’t help but crack a smile just thinking about how adorable that scene is. Happy Mother’s Day, Carrie Underwood!
