Carrie Underwood is channeling the King of Rock-n-roll in her latest tweet. On Saturday, fresh off her CMT Awards win, the country music singer took the social media platform to express her excitement about her upcoming Las Vegas residency.

“Today…I woke up… thinkin’ ’bout Elvis somewhere in Vegas… CAN’T WAIT,” she tweeted out alongside a promo clip of the residency at Resorts World Las Vegas.

This isn’t the first time Underwood’s fans have seen the line, “Thinkin’ ’bout Elvis somewhere in Vegas.” In fact, it’s a lyric in her song, “Last Name,” which was s the third single from Underwood’s second studio album, Carnival Ride.

At the 51st Grammy Awards, the song won Carrie Underwood her third consecutive Grammy Award for “Best Female Country Vocal Performance.” It has sold over 1,300,000 copies to date.

The song describes a woman in Las Vegas who meets a man at a club and later elopes with him in Sin City after having had too much to drink that night. In the morning, she wakes up “Thinkin’ ’bout Elvis somewhere in Vegas” to discover that she does not even know her new last name after realizing she got married to the mystery man.

Now, Underwood herself is heading to Las Vegas as she embarks on her 12-show residency starting in December. She’s also planning on making it a family affair by bringing her family along.

Carrie Underwood Ready To Be Back on Stage

When it opens its doors on June 24, Underwood will be one of several performers to perform on the Resorts World Las Vegas stage. In addition to Underwood, fans also have the chance to see Celine Dion, Katy Perry, and Luke Bryan. All three will perform at The Theatre at Resorts World Las Vegas, a 5,000-capacity venue.

As for Carrie Underwood, she couldn’t be more thrilled to be back performing for live audiences.

“I love those moments being on stage, it’s so wonderful, she recently told ET. “But then when you don’t have any of that … I’ll take my kids, you know, action figures and like, line them up in front of me or something, sing to them just so I can feel something.”

As for what’s to come, as she describes, “It’s gonna be all about the rhinestones, all about the fringe. I do change wardrobe throughout shows and whatnot anyway, so I feel like this is just gonna be a great opportunity to be able to do that. And we just want to have fun, we want the audience to have fun.”

Due to pre-sale ticket demand, Underwood has also added six new show dates from March 23 to April 2, 2022, for her residency. While tickets are on sale now, additionally, $1 from each ticket sold will be donated to Make-A-Wish Foundation of America, which grants life-changing wishes for children with chronic illnesses. For over 15 years, Underwood has prided herself on being involved with the organization.
