Carrie Underwood’s Husband Mike Fisher Reveals One of His Favorite Moments as a Father

by Madison Miller

Besides being one of the best-selling and most popular country artists today, Carrie Underwood has also been busy loving and caring for her growing family.

Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher got married on July 10, 2010. Since then, the couple has had two kids together. They have two boys, Isaiah and Jacob.

Mike Fisher used to be a professional hockey player who played for the Ottawa Senators and the Nashville Predators in the NHL. He started his professional career in 1999. However, in 2018, he announced his retirement.

He now spends time touring with Underwood (when there wasn’t a pandemic) and caring for their two sons. He’s also quite the avid outdoorsman.

Mike Fisher’s Favorite Part of Being a Dad

Fisher and Underwood had their first child in 2015. Then they had their second son in January of 2019.

The couple is very vocal about being devout Christians. In an interview with I Am Second, the couple talks about their journey as parents and their growing understanding of unconditional love.

“One of my favorite moments as a dad was … he [his son] got a boo-boo, so I put my hand on him and I prayed for him one day in Jesus’ name. You know, ‘Please heal Isaiah and make him feel better.’ And sure enough, he wakes up the next day, and he was feeling better. And he said ‘Jesus healed me,’ and it’s kind of cool,” Fisher said.

Mike Fisher and Carrie Underwood expressed how both their sons have embraced religion at a young age. Beyond that, they’re shocked as to how much young children seem to absorb from their parents.

“Two weeks later … we were on tour. We were in Ottawa. I was doing something with the bus and I cut my finger and I was bleeding and Isaiah was there he watched it all happen. He comes over and was like ‘Daddy, we need to pray…’ His prayer was almost identical to my prayer. It was the coolest thing ever,” Fisher said.

Both Underwood and Fisher came from Christian households, therefore, they place a lot of importance on God and religion. In addition to her faith, Underwood says that having kids has taught her about unconditional love.

“I want our children to know, above everything, this goes for everybody everywhere too, that you are loved and you are wanted,” Carrie Underwood said.

Carrie Underwood Gospel Album

Further proof of the couple’s faith comes to light with the news of Carrie Underwood’s upcoming gospel album. “My Savior” is the name of the upcoming album.

While she has included faith-based content in her music in the past, this is Underwood’s first true and authentic gospel album. In 2020 Underwood released “My Gift,” a Christmas album, and this new album is the follow-up.

According to Billboard, Carrie Underwood released the tracklist for her album, which is set to drop on March 26. As a “spiritual companion” to her Christmas album, “My Savior” features covers of the hymns she grew up singing. David Garcia is co-producing the album.

The album will include 13 different songs. They include “Jesus Loves Me,” “Blessed Assured,” “Just As I Am,” “Victory In Jesus,” “O How I Love Jesus,” “I Surrender All,” and many others. On March 10 she released “Nothing But The Blood Of Jesus” as a single off the album.
