Chris Stapleton’s new album Starting Over, is No. 1 on “Billboard’s Top Country Albums” chart.
Stapleton released the album on Nov. 13, and fans were quick to give it praise. In just the past ten days, the country star has sold over 102k units, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data. These numbers pushed Stapleton to the No. 3 spot on the “Billboard Top 200” chart, which features all music genres.
For over three months, fans eagerly anticipated its release. Finally, on Nov. 12, Stapleton announced via Twitter that it was here. The reception of the album has been overwhelmingly positive. On Twitter, his fans have been anything but silent about their approval.
Chris Stapleton’s Hope for the Album
In addition to the announcement, Stapleton added that he hoped his fans would receive hope and healing through his music.
“In my life when I’ve needed strength, love, peace, joy, friendship, focus, courage, understanding, hope, or healing I’ve found those things in music. As you listen, I pray you find some of those things here. May we all look to the best of who we’ve been & the promise of who we can be. Here’s to starting over.”
The long-awaited album features 11 new songs that Stapleton co-wrote. The album also includes three covers: John Fogerty’s “Joy Of My Life” and Guy Clark’s “Worry B Gone” and “Old Friends.” Morgane, Stapelton’s wife sings background vocals on the lead single, “Starting Over.”
Stapleton recorded most of the album at Nashville’s historic RCA Studio A. Starting Over, follows Stapleton’s 2017 albums, From A Room: Volume 1 and From A Room: Volume 2, both of which were No. 1.
Quarantine seems like it’s been good for the Stapleton family. He and his wife are parents of five and live on a 300-acre farm in Nashville. In a recent interview, Stapleton said the time had given him a chance to focus on music and think about what he wanted to say. There’s a good chance that Starting Over represents that.
