On Tuesday, country singer Chris Young responded to a fan’s comment on Twitter and laughed off the hypothetical basketball game between himself and NBA star Jimmy Butler.

The fan reminded Young that Butler – who is from Texas and loves country music – is a big fan of his music. In addition, the fan suggested that Young and his three co-hosts on The Quad with Chris Young podcast should play basketball against Butler and his Miami Heat teammates.

“Because @JimmyButler is a big @ChrisYoungMusic fan, I feel like it’s destined for The Quad to hoop against The Heat,” a fan tweeted.

Young Knows He Has No Chance Against Butler

However, the country singer wanted no part of Butler and the Heat. Young had no delusions that he and his co-hosts would have any chance against professional basketball players. The musician made sure to let the fan know that likely wouldn’t be in his future plans. Likewise, he referenced a certain former basketball player who stepped out of his comfort zone over the weekend.

“Dude not a chance!!! Us hooping against @JimmyButler would be like… I don’t know… A basketball player we all heard about this weekend boxing,” Young responded.

Young hilariously referenced former NBA player Nate Robinson who got in a boxing ring with internet personality Jake Paul over the weekend. The celebrity boxing match preceded the highly anticipated exhibition match between former boxing champs Mike Tyson and Roy Jones, Jr. Neither Robinson or Paul are professional boxers, but Paul has fought in the ring before and trained to be a fighter for the last three years.

Needless to say, things didn’t go well for Robinson during the bout. In the second round, Paul knocked Robinson out cold to win the fight. Subsequently, social media went crazy with memes of Robinson laid out after Paul’s big punch.

Therefore, Young basically admitted that he and his podcast crew would get killed on the court by Butler and company. Sounds like the country artist will be sticking to making music, and that’s not a bad thing for country fans.
