Little Big Town will honor Kenny Rogers during the Nov. 11 CMA Awards following “The Gambler’s” death earlier this year. He was 81.

Little Big Town will be part of a cavalcade of country music’s biggest acts that will pay tribute to some of those we lost this year, Variety reports. Jason Aldean, Dierks Bentley, Brothers Osborne, Ashley McBryde, and Jenee Fleenor will open the show with a tribute to Charlie Daniels. Jon Pardi will honor Joe Diffie, who died of coronavirus earlier this year.

Rogers is a five-time CMA award winner. Little Big Town appeared in a 2019 documentary about Rogers to discuss his impact on country music and their lives.

The band gave a powerhouse performance of Rogers’ “Through the Years” during his final tour in 2017.

Reba McEntire and Darius Rucker will host the CMA Awards on Nov. 11 at 8 p.m. ET.

Rucker Promises Big Suprise with Reba At CMA Awards

Darius Rucker will be hosting the award show for the first time. He told Live With Ryan and Kelly that he plans to perform “Beers and Sunshine” with Lady A at the ceremony. But he also teased a performance with McEntire on an unknown song.

“We’ve got something that we’re really excited about — and, no, I can’t tell you [what it is]. And I’m also gonna do a thing with Lady A, we’re gonna do ‘Beers and Sunshine,’” he said.

Rucker also revealed that he’s run the gambit between nervous and excited about the event. The singer won his first CMA Award in 2009 after transitioning from rock to the country genre.
