Country star Luke Combs took to social media to thank the Country Music Association and all of his fans for a great night at the CMA awards ceremony.
Combs sent out a tweet on Thursday evening thanking everyone for an amazing night.
“What a night! Thank you @CountryMusic and thank you all! #CMAAwards,” Combs wrote on Twitter.
Combs had his fellow country stars buzzing after giving a stirring performance to remember on the 2020 CMA Awards.
The country singer performed “Cold As You” live on Wednesday night. He took the stage at Music City Center with limited audience members that consisted of artists and their guests sat at tables.
Even in light of the socially-distanced show, Combs’ team did not stop from getting into the performance. Combs’ co-writer Ray Fulcher and wife Nicole Hocking were standing, screaming, dancing, and singing along to his performance.
Luke Combs Awards and Nominations
The 2020 CMA Awards Album of the Year goes went to Luke Combs for What You See Is What You Get. Jake Owen presented the award to Combs, who scored his first-ever win in the category.
Others nominated for the award included Jon Pardi for “Heartache Medication” and Ashley McBryde for “Never Will.” Old Dominion’s self-titled album and Miranda Lambert’s “Wildcard” were also nominated.
Additionally, Combs won CMA Male Vocalist of the Year.
This year’s Male Vocalist of the Year category saw stiff competition between some of country music’s hottest stars. The 2020 nominees included Eric Church, Luke Combs, Thomas Rhett, Chris Stapleton, and Keith Urban.
Combs has been nominated for the award three times, including winning it this year and last year.
Furthermore, Combs had a nomination for Single of the Year for “Beer Never Broke My Heart.” He also had a nomination for “Song of the Year” for “Even Though I’m Leaving.” Both categories went to Maren Morris for “The Bones.”
