Let’s flashback to a fantastic, warm-and-fuzzy country music memory. Remember when Thomas Rhett brought his family to walk the red carpet in the pre-ceremony before the 2019 CMA Awards?

Rhett brought his wife, Lauren, and his two young daughters to last year’s CMAs. He lovingly includes his family in a lot of his work. He mentioned them in his song “Life Changes.” They’ve also appeared in two of his music videos, “Life Changes” and “Look What God Gave Her.”

Rhett’s oldest daughter is Willa Gray Akins. She just turned five. The Rhett’s adopted her from Uganda in 2017. Then there’s Ada James. She’s three. The girls put on their best dresses for last year’s show. Willa Gray wore a cute gold sequin party dress, while Ada James was in glittery black.

Lauren was pregnant last year when she walked the red carpet. Daughter Lennon Love was born in February.

The girls love to play dress-up. Mom Lauren shared a photo for Halloween on Instagram, writing “Sisters, All Hallow’s Eve has become a night of frolic, where children wear costumes and run amok” 🎃👻🖤

Rhett will be performing this year at the awards ceremony. He’ll sing with Reba McEntire, Hillary Scott and Chris Tomlin.

Rhett is nominated for Male Vocalist of the year along with Eric Church, Luke Combs, Chris Stapleton and Keith Urban.

Thomas Rhett Is Devoted To His Girls

He’s also nominated for Musical Event of the Year with his song “Be A Light,” also featuring McEntire, Scott, Tomlin and Urban.

Rhett, a devoted girl dad, recently spoke about how he and his wife are raising daughter Willa Gray. Their oldest daughter is Black. He said they have conversations to note how they’re all similar and different. He wants her to embrace her culture and heritage.

“Willa Gray is one of the smartest that I’ve ever met,” Rhett told Entertainment Tonight.

“She is so smart. Even when she comes from school, her teachers… the main thing they’re saying is how intuitive she is and how much she recognizes at a young age.

“I think me and Lauren’s main thing we want to get across is how proud we are and that we want her to grow up proud of herself and of her family…. And to embrace who you are and to embrace your uniqueness and embrace your culture as well. That’s something we want to educate her on as long as she’s still in our household and even beyond that.”
