Cole Swindell scored his 10th chart-topper as “Single Saturday Night” reached No. 1 on the Mediabase chart this week.
“Single Saturday Night” has been streamed over 122 million times. During its release week, it reached No. 7 on the all-genre iTunes chart. Fans became so obsessed with it, that he had to officially release it to country radio. This marked his tenth No. 1 as an artist and eleventh as a songwriter.
This tune was written by Ashley Gorley, Michael Hardy, and Mark Holman. Gorley and Hardy sent Swindell the demo. Swindell knew after the instant he heard it, he had to record the track.
“I knew it was something I wanted to record,” Cole Swindell said in a press release. “I was missing the road and the live shows and wanted my fans to have new music from me. Once we put it out, their reaction was so big it pushed us to release it to country radio. I can’t thank Country Radio, the fans, and my team enough for making this my 10th No. 1 song. Still hard to believe! I can’t wait to see everyone out on the road.”

Additionally, the Georgia native was recently a guest on The Marty Smith Podcast. His first No. 1 as a songwriter was on Thomas Rhett’s “Get Me Some of That.”
“He had been out for a while, [and] he was just taking off,” Cole Swindell said of his tour mate. “He was already one of my favorite people and a big fan of his music.”
Swindell co-wrote the track alongside Thomas’s father, Rhett Akins, and Michael Carter. Growing up, he was actually a huge fan of Rhett’s work. The first song that he ever worked on with the country music legend happened to be for his son, and reach No. 1.
“Somehow, he plays it for Thomas [Rhett]. Thomas hears it, loves it, puts it on the record,” Swindell recalled. “That’s enough. This is life-changing for a writer with not much going on. Finds out it’s going to be a single, ends up being No. 1. The fact that it’s my first as a songwriter, I wrote it with his dad.”
The track ended up landing Swindell a great friendship, working relationships, a No. 1, and now a spot on tour. Swindell will support Thomas Rhett on his Center Point Road Tour, which launches on August 20 in Bangor, Maine. The outdoor tour will conclude on October 9 in Raleigh, North Carolina.
“Me and Thomas [Rhett] are buddies,” Swindell added. “We’re touring together this upcoming year. So stories like I feel only happen in Nashville. So I’m glad to be a part of that one. But it doesn’t hurt that TR is not only talented but one of the best dudes out there.”
