Brad Paisley is, in all respects, a superstar. In 1999, Paisley released his first album and his stardom took off from there. Before singing his own songs, he got his big break writing hit songs for other artists. Throwing it all the way back to 1999, he played a relatively short set at the Grand Ole Opry.
A twenty-year-old Paisley comes on stage and sings two songs from his freshly released album, “Who Needs Pictures.” As a young phenomenon in the world of country music, he can rip the guitar and melts hearts with his voice.
Following his set, he gives a short interview talking about his first time at the Opry. He says, “Oh it was a blast, such a blast. I can’t even describe it.” Paisley gives a nod to his home state of West Virginia.

Paisley and His Illustrious Career
Paisley has gone on to play at the Grand Ole Opry 42 more times – so far – in his career. And consequently, he was inducted into their Opry in 2001 and given the first Opry Award. Undoubtedly a high honor for the talented musician. Although Paisley has won countless other awards across his career, this first time playing at the Opry might be one of his favorites.
In an interview with Loews Hotels, Paisley says that the Grand Ole Opry is perhaps his favorite place to go to hear live music.
“In Nashville, there is no excuse for not getting your fix of hearing good stuff,” he says. Additionally, he recommends the Grand Ole Opry. In November and December, the Grand Ole Opry travels to the historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville. And the musician recommends seeing any artist who is playing there.
“It is truly unforgettable.”
Nashville certainly is the place for music and in particular, the Opry has the seal of approval from the country star.
