In this country throwback, we’re highlighting the music road that led to Faith Hill starting her career.

Faith Hill hails from Mississippi, but like most country music artists, moved to Nashville to get a start in music. In this 1994 interview video with the star, Hill talks about her first run-in with the big leagues.

“It almost sounds like a fairy tale. I was singing around the office one day, and this songwriter was there and overheard me singing. He comes up and said ‘you know, I knew that you had other aspirations besides going to college here and besides being a receptionist around the office. I want you to do a demo for me. I want to see what you sound like.'”

This started Hill’s demo career and from there she did a lot of work around town for different publishers and songwriters. Then she started her live career singing around Nashville.

These songwriters took a chance on the country powerhouse and she was fortunate to score some successful songs as a young artist. Hill released her first album in 1993 titled “Take Me as I Am.”

Audrey Faith McGraw, but professionally known as Faith Hill, is one of the most successful country music artists of all time. She’s sold more than 40 million albums worldwide. Hill’s recorded a total of 8-studio albums.

Hill has won five Grammy Awards, 15 Academy of Country Music Awards, six American Music Awards, and several other awards. Her Soul2Soul II Tour 2006 with husband, Tim McGraw, became the highest-grossing country tour of all time. She married Mcgraw in 1996. The two have co-headlined the “SoulIISoul Tour” several times.

In addition to country music, Hill’s also starred in various TV shows and movie roles, like “The Stepford Wives,” a remake of the 1975 original. She also performed the coveted “Sunday Night Football” theme song and show opening from 2007 to 2012.

Hill and McGraw have four daughters together and currently reside in Nashville, Tennessee.
