Country Throwback: Kelly Clarkson Nails Jason Aldean Hit ‘You Make It Easy’

by Thad Mitchell

One of the most well-known musical acts in some time, Kelly Clarkson has a voice for most any genre.

On a previous edition of her television show, aptly named “The Kelly Clarkson Show,” she took a swing at a country classic. During “Kellyoke” segment of the show she opted to sing Jason Aldean’s “You Make It Easy.”

Clarkson gives the country tune a soulful and bluesy vibe that her audience seems to love. She performs the song with the assistance of her band to the delight of her vast fanbase.

The Kelly Clarkson Show YouTube channel describes her show as an uplifting daytime destination for humor, heart, and connection. Clarkson is not only a top musical talent but also an Emmy Award-winning talk show host to boot. She was the winner of the first-ever season of American Idol and a Grammy Award-winning talent as well.

Kelly Clarkson Covers Various Artists for “Kellyoke”

Clarkson often covers different genres of music in her “Kellyoke” segment of her popular talk show. In 2020 alone, she has covered songs by musical acts Christ Stapleton, Lizzo, Demi Lavato and Ed Sheeran.

Aldean released the “You Make It Easy” only a few years ago and it became one of the singer’s biggest hits. Aldean has been one of the most popular country music artists since hitting the scene. Since 2005, he has put out nine albums and 35 singles. His 2018 album “My Kinda Party” is certified quadruple-platinum by the Recording Industry of America Association. Of his 35 singles, 22 have reached top billing on either Hot Country Songs or Country Airplay charts.

Clarkson and Aldean teamed up for the 2010 hit “Don’t You Want to Stay.” The song won the Academy of Country Music’s Vocal Event of the Year award. The song was featured on Aldean’s hit album “My Kinda Party.”
