Country music star Kenny Chesney teamed up with David Lee Murphy in 2017 for an incredible live performance of “Dust on the Bottle.”
Kenny Chesney is well-known as one of the greatest entertainers in the entire country music community. And although he took a year off from touring in 2017, he had a packed schedule with one tour date after another back in 2016.
In one of the highlights of 2017, however, Chesney joined forces with ’90s country star, David Lee Murphy, for a “Dust On The Bottle” duet. The hit Murphy song is part of Chesney’s second live album, Live in No Shoes Nation. It no doubt makes a great addition to our country throwback series.
Although he hasn’t recorded any new material since 2004, Murphy was one of country music’s leading stars in the 1990s and early 2000s. To this day he is still active in the country music industry as a songwriter for other artists, including Chesney. In fact, Murphy was a co-writer on Chesney’s number one hit from 2005, “Living in Fast Forward.” However, that isn’t the song the duo sings together on Live In No Shoes Nation. Instead, they sing Murphy’s “Dust on the Bottle.”
If there is anything to take away from this performance, it’s that Chesney and Murphy make a pretty darn good team. Have a look below:
Kenny Chesney Live Album, Live In No Shoes Nation
After all, Chesney is extremely popular for his live shows so it only made sense for him to release a live album at some point in his career. And that’s exactly what he did in 2006, which was the year his first live album Live: Live Those Songs Again, got its release. That album was a smashing success on the charts. It was able to reach the top spot on the Billboard Country Albums chart. It also reached the fourth spot on the all-genre albums chart.
Meanwhile, more than ten years later, Chesney thought it was time for him to release his second live album. That album became Live in No Shoes Nation, which saw a release in October of 2017. The album contains a total of 30 tracks. It is composed of material over a ten-year period from Chesney’s various concerts.
The album features several of Chesney’s singles dating back to 2001, not to mention various album tracks and cover songs. Additionally, many of the tracks on Live in No Shoes Nation are collaborations between Chesney and other guest artists. Some of the most prominent names in country music make appearances on the album. A few of those names include Taylor Swift, the Zac Brown Band, and Eric Church.
