At the Academy of County Music Awards in 2017, Miranda Lambert reminded the world why she’s one of the biggest names in all country music. The woman can flat-out sing.

33-years old at the time of her performance, Lambert stepped into the spotlight at T-Mobile Arena during the 2017 ACM Awards in Las Vegas with just her guitar. What came next was a goosebump-inducing rendition of her hit song, “Tin Man.”

The crowd sat silently in awe of Lambert while she sang. And the country star did not disappoint. In fact, she turned in one of the most memorable performances of the night while being able to hit every note with almost no effort.

You can listen to the epic performance yourself down below. But don’t say we didn’t warn you about the goosebumps.

In addition to lighting up the 2017 ACM Awards with her stunning performance of “Tin Man,” she also took home some serious trophies. Her album, The Weight of These Wings won album of the year and she also took home female vocalist of the year. That made it an impressive eight years in a row at the time that she had won that award.

Story Behind Miranda Lambert Hit ‘Tin Man’

Prior to hitting the stage at the 2017 ACM Awards in Las Vegas, Lambert sat down with Taste of County where she talked about her hit song. She told the outlet that she has “never been one of those artists that’s driven by singles.”

“I don’t know if it’s a single or not,” Lambert said of “Tin Man.” She adds that “I don’t care, really — I have 24 songs that I wanna showcase at some point, not as singles or whatever. I just felt like this opportunity is time for me to show that I’m a true singer-songwriter. I’m kind of all over the map as far as the emotional journey on this record, and it’s just another piece.”

Lambert co-wrote the hit song with Jack Ingram and Jon Randall. Meanwhile, many country fans have speculated that the song is in reference to her divorce from Blake Shelton. Lambert never actually admits that directly. However, she did say that she explores all of her feelings from her divorce in her double album. She notes that it wasn’t always easy.

“Some of it was not fun,” Lambert continued. “But you’ve got to let life lead the art, and that’s what I did. It’s kind of just my diary of the last couple of years, really.”
