Country Throwback: Miranda Lambert Belts ‘Tin Man’ on Bathroom Floor in 2017

by Thad Mitchell

Country music superstar Miranda Lambert knows a thing or two about the feeling of a broken heart.

One of Lambert’s signature songs “Tin Man” is all about dealing with a broken heart. The singer drew inspiration from the 1939 classic “The Wizard of Oz” in writing the song. The song was co-written by Lambert with Jack Ingram and John Randall and has turned into a hit.

In “The Wizard of Oz,” the tin man is a character without a heart. The tin man longs to have a heart in order to feel emotions such as love. In her song, Miranda Lambert says the tin man is lucky that he doesn’t have a heart because he doesn’t have to face heartbreak.

“Hey there Mr. Tin Man. You don’t know how lucky you are,” the song’s lyrics go. The tune goes on to suggest Lambert would trade her “scarred” heart to the tin man in exchange for his armor.

In 2017, Lambert gave a rather rousing performance of the song that added emotional content to the lyrics. Sitting on her bathroom floor with an acoustic guitar, she belts out her hit song.

The entire video is shot in black and white and features Miranda Lambert showing a full range of emotions while singing from her bathroom floor. The bathroom provides a unique and natural acoustic vibe to Lambert’s rendition of the heart-wrenching hit.
