In 2016, fiery redhead and country music legend Reba McEntire announced her third Christmas album, My Kind of Christmas.

She also helped fans get in the Christmas spirit with a beautiful rendition of a holiday classic. Reba McEntire sings ‘I’ll Be Home For Christmas’ as just one of the toe-tapping tunes from her holiday album.

Released in Sept. of that year, My Kind of Christmas featured ten Christmas classics, including “Winter Wonderland,” “O Come All Ye Faithful,” and “Silent Night.” In 2017, the Grammy winner re-released My Kind of Christmas, this time, she added more songs and made them available to everyone.

To accompany the re-release, McEntire posted performances of nearly every song on her YouTube channel.

Together with a lone piano, Reba McEntire seamlessly garnered the spirit of Christmas with her songs. In her performance of “I’ll Be Home For Christmas,” the singer made it clear what matters around the holidays: cherished time with family.

I’ll be home for Christmas
You can plan on me
Please have snow and mistletoe
And presents on the tree

In the 73 years since Bing Crosby debuted the Christmas hit, it has since become a holiday standard. Written initially about people who cannot be home for Christmas, the song’s emotion pulls at the listener’s heartstrings. but you’re unable to keep from singing along when the music comes on.

In addition, the album announcement also coincided with her new retail line called “Rockin’ R by Reba.” The country singer’s retail line also featured items inspired by her life, including jewelry, shawls, toys, playsets, and home goods. Cracker Barrel sold items from the line as well as the album at their locations.

Moreover, as the holidays continue, Reba McEntire reminds us to remember the reason behind the holidays: to be with loves ones.
