There are no rules, it’s 2020! If Dan + Shay want to skip Thanksgiving and just head straight to Christmas, we are here for it!
In a tweet from yesterday, the pair posted a nearly 30-second time-lapse video of the artists setting up their Christmas tree. Although we don’t see any ornaments or decorations besides the lights, we are going to give them the pass. It’s the thought that counts.
The tweet already has over 50 comments, 17 quote tweets, and 1,000 likes.
“Any other year, it would probably be too early to decorate for Christmas…but hey, it’s 2020, so why not! drop a (tree emoji) if you’ll be listening to “take me home for Christmas” while you decorate!”
Dan + Shay “Take Me Home For Christmas”
Just last week, Dan + Shay released their new Christmas song early, because who doesn’t need a little holly and jolly right now? The song is titled “Take Me Home For Christmas” and officially dropped on Friday.
“It’s been a long year, so we decided to get in the holiday spirit early. Our brand new song, “Take Me Home For Christmas,” will be available everywhere at midnight et, and we hope it brings a bit of feel-good into your world. Click here to pre-save: http://wmna.sh/TMHFC.”
As if we couldn’t be more in the Christmas spirit already, the country group’s new profile picture and header photo match. They are red with white writing that looks like it belongs on a stocking while hanging over a warm fireplace roasting chestnuts. It just screams late December.
As of Friday, the song was number one on the iTunes holiday chart, dethroning Mariah Carey’s iconic and timeless “All I Want For Christmas Is You.” Also featured on the list at number three is Jessie James Decker‘s version of “Santa Claus Is Coming to Town” which was also just released.
Crank up the speakers and get out the eggnog. It’s Christmas music time, and we all know the best was to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear. Lucky you!
