Country star Darius Rucker is calling for fans to join him in support of America’s Special Operations Forces families in his latest tweet.
The singer & songwriter has a long history of supporting the U.S. Military and their families. As a result, his country music base is responsible for record-breaking donations to charities. While tweeting a link today, Rucker is calling for further support to aid families of our Special Operations Forces.
According to FAS.org, “Special Operations Forces (SOF) are those active and reserve component forces of the services designated by the Secretary of Defense and specifically organized, trained, and equipped to conduct and support special operations.”
Rucker provides no details in his tweet. He does, however, provide a link to those wishing to help. Following the link leads supporters to QGIV.com. Within, the program details are laid out for an excellent cause:
Training and deployments are relentless. Time with fathers, mothers, the entire family is burdened, scarce, and, for some, no longer possible. The Station Foundation’s programs for serving, Veteran, and Gold Star families provide them hope, their own identity, confidence in their own abilities and paths … amazing journeys that bring them to their authentic selfs. The Station Foundation will serve over 200 families through late 2020 through 2021 and requires $250,000 to develop, staff, and deliver this work. PLEASE, DONATE and JOIN ME NOW.QGIV.com
Darius Rucker Stands Behind U.S. Military
Moreover, in previous coverage from us at Outsider.com, Darius Rucker calls for support of a similar foundation. Within, Rucker invites everyone to “RSVP to a special event called Heroes and History Makers. Other stars in attendance include Tom Hanks, Adam Driver, Tim McGraw, and Hilary Swank. Similarly, Darius Rucker will be there as well, of course.”
In addition, Rucker took the time to bring more fans to the cause with his own words. “America’s military caregivers have stood by their veterans,” Rucker tweets. “It’s our turn to stand with them. On Oct. 20th at 8 pm ET, I’m proud to join @dolefoundation to share the story of caregiver Briarly Wilson, one of our nation’s 5.5 million #hiddenheroes. RSVP: http://hhm2020.org”
Once best known for fronting 90s sensation Hootie & The Blowfish, Rucker has come a long way. An outspoken proponent for the U.S. Armed Forces and social change, Darius Rucker offers much to the country music community as one of the genre’s most prolific stars. And he’s showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon.
