Country music fans get excited for this weekend because Darius Rucker will release some new music this coming Friday. On March 12, Darius Rucker will release his first new music of the new year. He teased a sneak peek of what that brand new song might look like on Twitter earlier today.
The clip only gives us a fifteen-second taste of what the tune might sound like before cutting out, but it certainly has some upbeat Spring vibes with it. “Worked up a little something new for y’all,” Darius Rucker said on his Twitter mentioning the March 12 release date. The intro has a similar kind of instrumental jig as his 2020 “Beers and Sunshine” release had. However, the music cuts out before we get a really good sense of what the lyrics will look like. He has not yet released what the name of the new release will be.
With the exception of a few features and a Christmas song, we have not seen a new Darius Rucker song since “Beers and Sunshine” from this last summer. However, the short Twitter clip that Rucker shared earlier today sounded a lot like that kind of summer banger. Now, after the winter storms have cleared out of the country and several places around the southeast begin to see more Spring weather, we all need a bright country song to sing along to.
A Big Week For Darius Rucker
This week is shaping up to be quite the week for the country music icon Darius Rucker. On Monday, Rucker got his week started right with a hole-in-one on his local golf course in Charleston, South Carolina. On Tuesday, Rucker earned Southern Living’s 2021 “Southerner of the Year” honors. He shared his appreciation to his fans on Twitter yesterday.
Today, Darius Rucker got to share with us what he has been working on this new year. We only get a glimpse today, however, the full song will come out on Friday. Who knows what Darius Rucker has lined up between now and his new music release, but to me, getting a hole-in-one, winning Southerner of the Year, and releasing new music has to be one of the best weeks ever.
