Dierks Bentley Reveals Plans for Tour ‘Later This Year’

Count Dierks Bentley among the growing list of country music stars optimistic a tour might actually happen this year.

As it did with pretty much everything, the deadly COVID-19 virus wreaked havoc on the world of country music. Several country artists had big travel plans for 2020 that came to screeching holt as the coronavirus pandemic took over. More than a few of those artists with washed out 2020’s now say they are gearing up for live performances in 2021.

Any musical artist will tell you that performing in front a live audience is one of their most favorite things to do. Most acts have not been able to tour or hold live shows in over a year due to the pandemic. Bentley says his last live show in Omaha, Nebraska was a year ago today on February 23. He took to social media on Monday to let his fans know he has big plans for 2021 while looking to make up for lost time.

“This is from exactly a year ago at are last show in Omaha,” Bentley says in the post’s caption space. “Missing you guys like crazy! We’re planning a tour for later this year. I’m just gonna go ahead and put that out there cause maybe it will happen that way ?!”

Dierks Bentley Has Plans for 2021 Live Shows

Bentley has more than 2 million followers on Instagram and fans are expressing excitement over his plans to tour this year. The Instagram post drew more than 18,000 thousand “likes” and hundreds of comments is a short amount of time.

Bentley doesn’t get specific about a timeline on when he may hit the touring road this year. Like most music artists, he is in a holding pattern until the pandemic subsides long enough to ease social distancing protocols.

The 45-year-old country star certainly seems ready to get back on track and provide live music to his adoring fans base. With 14 Grammy Award nominations to his name, he is certainly no stranger to success. Now, his fans hope he is able to get out the guitar and take the stage at some point this year.
