Dierks Bentley Shares Cute Photo from Cross-Country Road Trip: ‘Griswolds Meet A Christmas Story’

Dierks Bentley and his family are just like us.

The country star and his wife piles the kids and pets and bikes into the car and take long, driving vacations. Or they camp. How many times do you think Bentley has heard “Daddy, are we there yet?”

Bentley posted his latest vacation photo Friday on his Instagram account.

Bentley captioned the photo “Truck broke, so the Subaru it is. 1400+ miles, 20 hours, 5 bikes, 3 kids, 2 parents, 1 donut, and a partridge in a pear tree. Griswolds meet A Christmas Story. It was so…..fun?”

Bentley is referring to Chevy Chase and the infamous National Lampoon Vacation movie series. Chase played Clark Griswold, who takes his wife and two kids on various cross-country vacations. Everything that could go wrong, did. Hilarity always ensued. Somehow, everybody enjoyed the vacation. You get the idea.

Dierks Bentley And His Family Have Been On Vacation for Much of 2020

Back in March, Bentley brought his wife and kids to Colorado for spring break.

Because of Covid-19, the Bentley family never went back to Nashville. They opted to ride out the pandemic in the panoramic solitude of the majestic Rocky Mountains.

“I am sure I will move back to Nashville because it’s the country music capital of the world and a great place to work out of,” Bentley told People magazine. “But someone is going to have to drag me out of Colorado because I do like being there.”

What’s not to love about being on vacation? Technically, the Bentleys just switched the view from the front yard. Bentley said he put the kids in school in Colorado. And, he’s working on new projects.

On Friday, he sang a cover of Shenandoah’s “Next To You, Next To Me,” for the Bobby Bones Show.

Still, being away from Nashville allows him true time with his family. As he told People:

“I’m making up for lost time with my family,” he said. “It’s been 18 years now of touring and being gone every weekend. Now I’m somewhere I can ride bikes with my kids to school. I put a camper on the back of my 1994 Chevy and we go camping almost every weekend.”
