In her latest “Dollyism,” Dolly Parton opens up about flirting. The country singer has made a career off a flirtatious and playful personality.

“Yeah I flirt. I’m not blind, and I’m not dead,” the 74-year-old singer said in her latest Instagram post. The message came as the latest part of a series of inspirational messages Parton shared with her followers.

Dolly Parton Creates Fictional Romances

Throughout her career, Parton has created several fictional romances between her and her duet partners. Many songs thrive on a blossoming intensity or a playful attitude. For instance, Parton recently released the playful romantic “Cuddle Up, Cozy Down Christmas” with Michael Bublé.

In the 1990s, rumors spread that Parton and Billy Ray Cyrus were involved romantically. In reality, Cyrus said Parton encouraged those rumors because they helped sell her music. The two are actually good friends, and Parton is his daughter Miley’s godmother.

Off-stage, Parton has been married to Carl Dean for 54 years. Her husband is private and tries to avoid the spotlight of his famous spouse. She said the two are comfortable together. Recently, she opened up to Oprah Winfrey about never having kids.

“Since I had no kids, and my husband was pretty independent, I had freedom,” she says. “So I think a big part of my whole success is the fact that I was free to work.”

She’s also said, “Be a self-made woman with the doctor bills to prove it” and “Don’t get so busy making a living that you forget to make a life.”

“Be a diamond in a rhinestone world” is another message of wisdom.
