Did you know that Dolly Parton was on American Pickers?

On Season 11 Episode 11, two of the show’s stars, Danielle Colby-Cushman and Lauren Wray were able to meet the legendary songstress herself at her theme park, Dollywood.

American Pickers‘ hosts Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz were hired by the park to locate retro fire equipment. The antiques were used on the 1940s themed FireChaser Express rollercoaster. They managed to find a handful of pieces to decorate the “Crazy Charlie’s” roadside gas station and fireworks emporium scene.

Firstly, the ride itself is a tribute to the hero firefighters who saved the Smoky Mountains in the 1940s from deadly fires. Secondly, the ride features the story of riders acting as firefighters who are attempting to save the Smokies and the gas station/fireworks store from the flames. Thirdly, the fire was caused by the fictional Big Bertha rocket of Charlie’s supply.

The FireChaser is the United States’ first family rollercoaster with a dual-launch, forward and backward. The coaster is for families and has a 39-inch height requirement.

Dolly Parton herself was briefly featured in the episode. She met Danielle and Lauren who came to see how their pieces were incorporated into the ride.

Dolly Parton’s Many Careers

If one thing’s for sure, is that Dolly Parton is not slowing down. Her latest endeavor is perfume with “Scent From Above.” Additionally, she was actually able to incorporate it into her music with a single of the same name.

In an interview, Dolly Parton spoke about her numerous dreams and ambitions.

“I think all things are possible,” she said. “In fact, I just hope I live long enough to do more things. That’s the only thing that worries me, that I may run out of time before I see so many of my dreams come true because I wake up with new dreams all the time.”

Dolly Parton recently reminisced about the start of her acting career. She revealed to Tim McGraw on his Beyond The Influence Radio podcast that she only took roles that she knew she could relate to.

“Even when I did Steel Magnolias, I played a beautician…I understood that,” she explained.

“I made a better whore than a secretary,” she admitted. She is most likely referencing her very first two movies. She starred as a secretary in 9 to 5 and The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas as Mona Stangley.

Furthermore, she did feel pressure when it came to her secretary role. She shared, “if it’s a big hit, then I can share in the glory of it. If it’s a failure, I can blame it all on them [Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin] and I’ll walk away free.”
