The state of Tennessee is turning 225 years old this year and Dolly Parton is helping the volunteer state celebrate with a new video.

A native of Sevierville, a small town in the eastern portion of the state, Dolly Parton has Tennessee in her blood. She grew in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains and now has her own theme park Dollywood in the region. The adventure park is located in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, and is one of the most visited parks in the world. It simply does not much more Tennessee than Dolly Parton, who has written numerous songs about her home state.

The video celebrating Tennessee’s upcoming birthday features Dolly Parton singing “Tennessee Mountain Home” in the background. She also narrates the video and makes a brief appearance in it at the very end. Tennessee Governor Bill Lee, who is also in the video, took to social media on Tuesday to share the two minutes video. In the caption, Lee calls Parton a “Tennessee Treasure” and thanks her for making the video.

“Dolly Parton is a Tennessee treasure and I am thankful she joined us to commemorate Tennessee’s 225 birthday with this new video featuring communities across our state,” the Tennessee Governor says.

The video also features scenes from several different communities across the state like Covington and Decaturville. There are also shots from the state’s larger, more well-known cities like Nashville, Knoxville and Memphis.

Dolly Parton concludes the video by inviting Tennesseans to join her in celebrating the milestone. She also noted there will festivities to enjoy for people across East, Middle and West Tennessee. She notes Dollywood will also be joining in on the fun.

“Join us as we celebrate Tennessee’s 225th birthday with a year full of festivities from Graceland in Memphis to Music Row in Nashville to Dollywood in the Smokies,” she says.

With hit songs like “Jolene” and “I Will Always Love You,” Dolly Parton is one of the best-selling artists of all time. At 75-years-old, She’s sold more than 100 million albums worldwide.

Parton made a trip back home recently to visit Dollywood and perform live on “Good Morning America” and speak with host Robin Roberts. The massive park just opened its 45-acre waterpark “Splash Country” to the public earlier this week. Dollywood is annually one of the top-rated theme parks in the world and provides tons of fun for the whole family.
