Following the news that she is writing her first novel Run, Rose, Run with author James Patterson, Dolly Parton announced she is recording a full album to accompany the upcoming book.
In her latest Instagram post, Dolly Parton states that the new album’s songs were written based on the characters and situations in the new book.
“I cannot be more excited about the release of my first novel Run, Rose, Run with the great James Patterson,” Dolly Parton declares. “I hope you enjoy the book and the songs as much as we’ve enjoyed putting it all together.”
According to People, Dolly Parton and James Patterson’s Run, Rose, Run is the story of a young woman who moves to Nashville, Tennessee to follow her dreams of becoming a music star. The source of the woman’s songs is a “brutal” secret that she’s desperately trying to hide. The book is notably a novel “glittering with danger and desire.”
The book’s description reads, “Every song tells a story. She’s a star on the rise, singing about the hard life behind her. She’s also on the run. Find a future, lose a past. Nashville is where she’s coming to claim her destiny. It’s also where the darkness she’d fled might find her. And destroy her.”
Dolly Parton’s Run, Rose, Run is set to hit stores on March 7, 2022, and is currently available for pre-order at the price of USD$15.99 and CAD$19.99. The accompanying album will have 12 original songs inspired by the book. The new album will be released on the same day as the novel.
