It’s been quite a year for legendary country music singer and songwriter Dolly Parton. Adding another Grammy to her list of accomplishments, though, is in the picture.
Parton received a Grammy nomination in the Best Contemporary Christian Music/Song category from the Recording Academy. She collaborated with Zach Williams on their song, “There Was Jesus.”
In addition to receiving the official announcement, Parton shares the news with her fans on Facebook.
“I was honored to hear that “There Was Jesus” is nominated for Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song at this year’s #GRAMMYs
So proud to be a part of this song with Zach Williams! I am so happy that it has touched the hearts of so many!” Parton wrote.
Parton also keeps her Twitter followers up to date with the news, too.
The song starts by describing a person’s lonely journey, alleviated by their faith, according to an article from television station WBIR. The lyrics later describe different roads and scenarios, highlighting that the person in them all was not alone throughout any of it because of their faith.
By the way, the song was released on Oct. 3, 2019, and is from the album “Rescue Story.”

Officials say that Parton has collected nine Grammys and 50 nominations throughout her career so far, and has been nominated 50 times, including her newest nomination for “There Was Jesus.”
At the 62nd Grammy Awards in 2019, she took home an award for the Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song for “God Only Knows” and was nominated for the Best Song Written for Visual Media with “Girl in the Movies.”
Parton’s reach goes far beyond the music world. She continues to be a philanthropist through Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. It was started in 1995 and has become the premier early childhood book gifting program in the world by mailing more than 80 million books in Australia, Canada, the U.K., and the United States.
Meanwhile, she’s been in the headlines for her $1 million donation toward helping doctors fight COVID-19.
The 63rd Grammy Awards will air on Sunday, Jan. 31, on CBS, officials said.
