Just days after her new perfume “Dolly -Scent From Above” became the fastest fragrance to be sold ever on HSN, Dolly Parton posted a hilarious “advertisement” on her social media accounts for the product.
“Get you a fragrance that can do it all! #ScentFromAbove is available for purchase this Friday,” Dolly Parton shared in the post, which features a hilarious photo collage.
As previously reported, Dolly Parton’s Scent From Above is described as a mixture of mandarin, vanilla, patchouli, and sandalwood. It also has hints of peony blossoms and jasmine. Parton also recently stated the fragrance is “cloud-like and soft.” To her, it also “smells heavenly,” which matches its name.
“I call my Dolly perfume ‘Scent from Above’ because it is excellently heavenly,” Dolly Parton says on her website. “I hope you feel as blessed and as pretty as I do when you wear it.”
Dolly Parton Opens Up About Her New Perfume
During a recent interview with Vanity Fair, Dolly Parton shares more details about why she decided to release her “Scent From Above” perfume. “Well, I was hoping that I was going to be able to do a little less [in 2021], but anytime you have things going – I’ve always said, and I’ll say again, I’ve dreamed myself into a corner.”
Parton also explains that she now has responsibility for all her projects and what they entail. “Anytime you start a new product, like this new perfume, you’ve got to get out and promote it.”
While also speaking about her single, ‘Cologne,’ Parton states that her new perfume has nothing to do with the 2008 song. “I’ve always loved perfume and colognes. I guess somewhere in my mind, that’s why I thought, ‘Well, I need to write a song about that.’”
Parton recalls the first perfume she owned, which was called Midnight. “It was in a little heart-shaped bottle. That’s when I was just a young, young, girl. You could buy it at the drugstore.”
Dolly Parton also says that her older sister used to wear it. Parton states she would sneak into her sibling’s room to spray it on her. She used to go to her aunts as well and pull out the dresser drawers to find sachets packets. “I just was always intrigued with that smell. So it’s only natural, since I love perfume, that I would want my own fragrance.”
Dolly Parton Talks Upcoming Beauty Project Ideas
In regards to her other beauty products, Dolly Parton says she’s very interested in having her own makeup line. She also hopes her products are good in the same way as the old products that she used to have throughout the years.
“I kind of put [my perfume] together based on a lot of different fragrances that I have loved and used. Other its bath oils or bath powders or perfumes.”
