Dolly Parton Tweets Thanks to Billboard for the 2020 Hitmaker Award

Country music icon Dolly Parton said her thank yous on social media today in light of winning the 2020 Hitmaker Award. Billboard announced that Parton has won the award.

In fact, Parton thanked Billboard on Twitter. She did so after they announced that she was the latest recipient of the Hitmaker Award. Following the announcement, Billboard says this new award recognizes a songwriter whose compositions have impacted culture in a positive way.

“Thank you @billboard,” Parton wrote in her tweet. She also included a heart emoji.

Nevertheless, in Billboard’s original tweet, they wrote, “@DollyParton will receive the Hitmaker Award at 2020 #BBWomenInMusic. This new award recognizes a songwriter whose compositions have impacted the culture in a crucial way.”

‘Billboard Women in Music’ Award Winners Other Than Dolly Parton

Billboard announced all of the other female award winners in addition to Parton. They did so in a lengthy thread posted on Twitter this morning.

For example, hip hop artist and rapper Cardi B won Billboard’s Woman of the Year honor.

“Cardi B will receive the Woman of the Year honor at this year’s #BBWomenInMusic ceremony,” Billboard wrote. “This award goes to an act whose music, performances, cultural influence and activism defined the year.”

Hip hop mega star, Jennifer Lopez, meanwhile, took home the Icon Award. Billboard wrote, “@JLo will receive the Icon Award at 2020 #BBWomenInMusic. This award honors a veteran artist who inspires new generations of both artists and fans through her music, performances and activism.”

Furthermore, Singer DUALIPA won the Powerhouse Award.
