The COVID-19 pandemic has forced many businesses to get creative, and that’s exactly what Dollywood has done with their new Santa Claus experience.
Country legend Dolly Parton‘s theme park in the Smoky Mountains has created a new way to visit Santa this holiday season. Dollywood’s “Santa’s List…Naughty or Nice” is an interactive Christmas experience where visitors are welcomed into Santa’s cabin. While visiting, you get to see Santa at work and find out if you made his Naughty or Nice list.
“When Santa isn’t hard at work at the North Pole, he likes to visit East Tennessee and his favorite Smoky Mountain songstress, Dolly! New in 2020, Santa’s List…Naughty or Nice allows kids—and kids at heart—a chance to see inside Santa’s cabin in the Smokies as he reviews…the list! Families can discover whether their name is on the naughty or nice list, and they even have their photo made as they peer through the window during this once-in-a-lifetime chance to catch Santa at work!” the Dollywood website says of their new Christmas experience.
A recent video by Adventures That Rock shows everything that “Santa’s List” has to offer. Considering visitors can’t sit on Santa’s lap this year, Dollywood’s alternative is a unique and fun option this season. The Pigeon Forge, TN theme park has found a way to make visiting Santa a safe experience during these unprecedented times. Additionally, Dollywood created a great way for visitors to still get their annual holiday pictures taken with the big man in red.
Dollywood Adds New Fireworks Show, 5 Million New Lights for Christmas
Parton’s theme park has been preparing for the holiday season with some other impressive additions as well. Dollywood created a new fireworks show and will be adding 5 million new lights around the park over the holidays.
The park began hosting “Smoky Mountain Christmas” on Nov. 7 and the event will run through Jan. 3, 2021. In addition to the new fireworks and millions of lights, the park is offering new food items and holiday performances.
The new festive fireworks display is called “Merry & Bright!,” which is set to contemporary holiday songs. Also, the park will have a 50-foot tall animated Christmas tree paired with a light show.
The park’s holiday performances include a new show called Heart of the Holidays. It features Parton’s family members and includes songs from the iconic singer’s newest Christmas album, “A Holly Dolly Christmas.”
“Some Christmases are more memorable than others. And I think this year is certainly one we won’t forget,” said Parton. “I want families to feel the warmth and comfort of all the great things they remember about Dollywood at Christmas, with a few new experiences that will become the memories they share years from now.”
“In twenty years, when someone says, ‘Do you remember 2020?’ of course, they’ll think about how strange this year has been,” she continued. “But, I also hope they’ll stop and say, ‘Yes, but remember that special time we had at Dollywood during Christmas that year.'”
