Eric Church is hyping fans with news of an upcoming tour.
Chruch released a video to share the exciting announcement on his Instagram on Friday. During the clip, the CMA Entertainer of the Year award winner shares that he and his team are planning a tour for this year.
“Hey guys, we are working on a North American tour. We’re waiting for the right timing to officially announce all the details. But I want you to know that a tour is coming,” Church said during the video.
The “Drink in My Hand” superstar said that fans can expect to see the same cities that he’s stopped in previously on this year’s list of tour stops. He even said that there will be a few new cities on the list as well. He also gave a shout out to the Church Choir subscribers.
“As usual, the Church choir will get the first opportunity to buy tickets when we go on sale,” he said.
Church concluded the video with, “I cannot wait to see you on the road.”
Along with the video, Church wrote, “We will gather again.”
Eric Church Drops New Song Same Day as Tour News
Along with news about his upcoming tour, Church also dropped a new single today, “Lynyrd Skynyrd Jones.” Church wrote the song with Case Beathard as a song for the Soul part of his record.
The song is about a boy named Lynyrd Skynyrd Jones, a nod to his mother’s favorite band. Lynyrd is a biracial boy who discovers music at the age of 13. He begins wondering about his father’s identity but his mother won’t reveal any details. It’s not until the last line of the song that we discover the identity of Lynyrd’s father. No spoilers here! All we’ll say is that Lynyrd Skynyrd fans will be delighted by the song’s references.
During an interview, Church talked about how he decided which songs were worthy of the album.
“I am the hardest critic on making sure every song deserves to be on the record,” said Church. “And I beat this thing to death going, ‘This can’t be that good.’ But it was just a special, special time, and a special, special project that I think will be among our best.”
