Florida Georgia Line Cancels 2021 ‘I Love My Country’ Tour

On Friday (August 20th) country sensation group Florida Georgia Line officially canceled their 2021 I Love My Country. The tour was set to kick off on September 24th and the group’s first stop was at the Cellairis Amphitheater at Lakewood in Atlanta, Georgia.

Florida Georgia Line’s Tyler Hubbard states, “There is nothing better than seeing all of your faces from the stage. Feeling your good energy and making memories together. We were hopeful we could get back on the road this fall and are so bummed to have to cancel this tour.”

The Florida Georgia Line bandmate shares more details about the cancellation by stating he and fellow bandmate, Brian Kelley, know in their hearts that they still have to make sure they are keeping their fans and crew safe. “It’s unfortunate that we have to cancel, but we hope y’all understand. We love our fans and can’t wait to be back out when the time is right.”

Kelley goes on to say, “Although we’ve been able to see some of y’all at shows recently. Everyone’s continued safety has been weighing heavily on us. To our fans, band, crew, and all of the venues around the country thank you for your love and support!”

The statement from Florida Georgia Line notes that for current ticket holders, refunds will go to the original method of payment used at the time of purchase. The group’s cancellation comes just days after fellow country star Garth Brooks announced he was canceling the remaining dates of his 2021 stadium tour, which includes the rescheduled Nashville show.

Florida Georgia Line Set to Join Nelly For CMT Crossroads

Earlier this week, Florida Georgia Line will be joining Nelly for the season premiere of CMT Crossroads. According to CMT, Nelly will be highlighting over a decade of “successful explorations of his appreciation of country music” alongside Kane Brown, Blanco Brown, BRELAND, and Florida Georgia Line.

“I’m excited to celebrate my music with friends and fellow artists on CMT Crossroads! When people talk about me crossing lines and genres. I think about it more that music brings folks together,” Nelly proclaims. The country music network also reveals this will be the first Crossroads appearance for Kane Brown, Blanco Brown, and BRELAND. Florida Georgia Line will return to Crossroads after teaming up with Backstreet Boys in 2007.

CMT Crossroads’ latest season will premiere on September 1st. Sharing their excitement for the upcoming episode, Florida Georgia Line reveals on their Twitter feed, “This is going to be a fun one y’all! Stoked to be a part of #CMTCrossroads: Nelly & Friends, coming to you September 1 on @CMT @Nelly_Mo @kanebrown @blancobrown @breland.”

The 2007 appearance sparked a friendship between Florida Georgia Line and Backstreet Boys. In a 2019 interview, Backstreet Boys’ Howie D shared his thoughts about having both groups sing together at the Academy of Country Music Awards with USA Today. “We were scared. We didn’t know if they were gonna be like, ‘Get these boys off the stage.’”
