Florida Georgia Line‘s Brian Kelley is celebrating his birthday today!
On Thursday, August 26, his bandmate Tyler Hubbard wished him a happy birthday.
“Happy Birthday @briankelley! Thankful for all the good times we’ve shared and all that’s ahead. Hope you’re living your best life out on the water today,” Hubbard wrote.
In an Instagram Story, Kelley shared his bandmate’s wishes and captioned the post, “Thankful to be alive.”
The duo recently canceled their I Love My Country fall tour due to COVID-19 concerns. Due to the new variants being transmitted, some artists have postponed or canceled their tours. Meanwhile, some artists have implemented new safety measures. It wasn’t an easy decision for Florida Georgia Line. But they wanted to keep their fans, band, crew, and venues safe. They thanked their fans for their support and understanding after announcing the cancelation.
“Although we’ve been able to see some of y’all at shows recently, everyone’s continued safety has been weighing heavy on us,” Brian Kelley said in a statement. “We couldn’t do what we do without you, and we hope we can all do our part to bring live music back soon.”
Tyler Hubbard added, “We were hopeful we could get back on the road this fall, and are so bummed to have to cancel this tour, but we know in our hearts that we still have to make sure we’re keeping our fans and crew safe. It’s unfortunate that we have to cancel but we hope y’all understand. We love our fans and can’t wait to be back out when the time is right.”
Florida Georgia Line’s Video Turned Fishing Trip
Florida Georgia Line recently released their single “Lil Bit.” The pair filmed the music video just outside Nashville and had a “blast” doing so. They did it alongside their frequent collaborator, Nelly, who is featured on the track.
“And I remember I pulled up and I actually had a couple fishing poles in the bus,” Kelley recalled in a press release. “So, I came prepared for a little pond bass fishing and probably caught between 10 and 12 bass that day in between shooting.”
Kelley, Hubbard, and their collaborator Nelly all had their families in attendance. Overall, they are “super happy” with the way the music video ended up and they got to have downtime with their families in the process. What could be better?
Fishing is just one part of Kelley’s lifestyle. Growing up in Florida, he’s appreciated both the beach and the countryside. You can find him on an ATV one moment and then surfing the next. He’s also opened up a surf shop as part of his Tribe Kelley brand, which pays homage to his lifestyle.
“It’s kind of a don’t take yourself too serious lifestyle,” he described his mantra as. Kelley said that he’s a “Florida boy” but anyone can “take a little sunshine with you when you go kind of mindset.”
He credits his inspirations as being the beach, his home in Florida. In addition, “a couple of spicy margaritas, if I’m being honest.”
