Over the summer, actor Chris Pratt divulged some “top-secret” news during the Literally! With Rob Lowe podcast that he and his country superstar friend Garth Brooks are looking to work together on an upcoming project.
The famous actor and musician are good friends, and now Brooks has also touched on the pair’s plans to collaborate in the future. The country legend was asked in a recent Billboard interview about a possible mash-up movie-music project. However, Brooks is staying tight-lipped about the two possibly working together.
“You know, Chris Pratt keeps talking about doing something together,” Brooks said in the interview. “I know [Pratt’s] idea is some kind of movie-themed thing. Whether that comes to fruition or not, I don’t know.”
The musician said he isn’t quite sure what he can and can not say about the duo’s potential collaboration. But, Brooks says he doesn’t want to say anything he shouldn’t in fear of jeopardizing the possible project with his friend.
“In Chris Pratt’s world, in movie world, I don’t know what I can say and what I can’t,” Brooks explained. “All I know is, I love him to death and I don’t want to do anything to jeopardize that, so I’m going to stay quiet and let him do the talking.”
More News (Or a Lack Thereof) on Pratt and Brooks’ Secret Project
Pratt joined Rob Lowe – his former co-star on Parks and Recreation – on his podcast in June. During the appearance, the Jurassic Park star mentioned that the mystery project with Brooks would merge his acting career with the musician’s famous country music. Pratt himself is a country fan, and has joined Brooks on stage in previous occasions.
“I think in it, I will sing some country, which is pretty cool,” Pratt said during the podcast. “Garth is so good…unbelievable.”
The Guardian of the Galaxy star is no stranger to Brooks’ music. In fact, last year Pratt even covered his friend’s music at two of Nashville, TN’s famous honky-tonks. In 2019, the actor played some of both Brooks’ and Johnny Cash’s classic songs, which were appropriate for the setting.
The same year, Pratt had the honor of introducing Brooks as he took the stage at the iHeartRadio Music Awards to accept his Artist of the Decade award. Afterward, the actor joined Brooks on stage as he accompanied his friend and his band during a medley of the country icons’ greatest hits.
