After selling out his Charlotte, NC, show in 90 minutes, Garth Brooks will have to wait for the fall after he delayed his stadium tour yet again.

According to Brooks’ official website, Charlotte ticket holders will have to wait until Sept. 25 for the concert. While Brooks didn’t release an official statement regarding the postponement, his first three attempts to play Charlotte were nixed due to the pandemic.

Brooks initially scheduled the concert for May 2, 2020, but was then moved to Jun. 13, then Oct. 10 of 2020. He later pushed it back to Apr. 10, 2021, just before this latest schedule change.

This marks Brooks’ second postponement of the year, when he deferred his Feb. 27 show in Las Vegas to July 10. His next scheduled performance is scheduled for May 1 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Brooks’ fans are eager for the concert as he’s expected to bring more than 70,000 fans to the stadium, making it the largest public concert gathering in the US since the start of the pandemic.

Garth Brooks Postpones Tour Amid Trisha Yearwood’s Positive COVID-19 Result

The news comes after Brooks publicly announced that his wife, Trish Yearwood had tested positive for COVID-19. While the country superstar said he tested negative for COVID-19, Yearwood wasn’t so lucky. In a statement, Brooks said that Yearwood still is experiencing symptoms but indicated she’s getting better, “The Queen and I have now tested twice,” Brooks said.

“Officially, she’s diagnosed as ‘on her way out of the tunnel’ now, though, which I’m extremely thankful for. Anyone who knows me knows my world begins and ends with Miss Yearwood, so she and I will ride through this together.”

In early February, Brooks and Yearwood announced they were quarantining at their home in Nashville. As a result, they canceled all their scheduled events. After Yearwood came down with the virus, they believed she was were exposed after a member of their team tested positive earlier in the month.

After they announced the results, Brooks commented on his wife’s ability to come out strong.
“Anyone who knows Trisha knows she’s a fighter and she’s been doing everything right. So I know we’ll walk out the other side of this thing together,” he said. “She’s tough. She’s stronger than me.”
