Garth Brooks Promises to Match Amount Raised by Fan for Cancer Charity

On this week’s episode of “Inside Studio G”, Garth Brooks promised to match the amount raised by an Austrailian fan for a cancer charity. The announcement came as Brooks was closing out the “Ask Garth’ segment of the show.

Garth had answered questions from several fans on a range of topics, many of which pertained to his latest album “Fun.” Before ending the segment, the producer pulled a tweet from an Australian fan named Simone Holloway.

The multi-award winning country star went through a range of emotions as he read took in the tweet. Upon finding out that the fan in the photos was not fighting a battle with cancer his joy is evident. With a cracking voice, Brooks gushed about how the beauty of both the sentiment and individual. Before moving on to close the show, he stated that he would match whatever Holloway had raised for the charity.

Garth Brooks Has a History of Giving to Charity

Many know Brooks as an award winning performer. He sells out shows in arenas all over the world and has sold more albums than any other solo performer in United States history. What some don’t realize is that he has a history of donating to charities and doing benefit concerts for causes in which he believes.

Brooks came out of retirement in 2008 to do five concerts in two days. The shows were done raise money to help prevent further fire catastrophes in the California. A portion of the opening show was broadcast live and encouraged viewers to call in and donate as well. In the end, these shows raised over $10 million for fire relief.

Along with doing benefit concerts, Brooks donates to several charitable organizations. These organizations include Project Clean Water, Habitat for Humanity, Teammates for Kids, and several others.

It is no surprise that Brooks resonated so deeply with Holloway’s giving spirit.
