Garth Brooks is calling to Twitter to help him track down an Eagles fan that really shocked us all.
This fan may have made Philadelphia history. At least the “Kindest Man of the Year” Award.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers star Leonard Fournette threw the ball into the stands after scoring a touchdown. An Eagles fan then caught the ball, turned around, and handed it directly to a Buccaneers fan. Wait, what?
Philadelphia is known for having the worst fans in all sports history. Being a Philly native myself, I like to call it passion. This guy is just simply one-of-a-kind and it’s quite possible that this won’t be seen again.
But country music legend put out a public post looking for the identity of this man. It’s unclear what Brooks’ intentions are, but we can only assume it’s a good reason. Let’s hope this man is a Garth Brooks fan.
He writes on Twitter, “Let’s see the power of @twitter! Can someone help me find this guy… the world needs more people like this -> This @eagles fan made sure to give the ball to the @buccaneers fan! Tweet me if you know him!!!! This is AWESOME!!!! love, g.”
Brooks’ tweet has been met with a lot of positive comments such as “Eagles fans are the best fans in the world other than Garth fans of course! I hope you guys find him! #FlyEaglesFly.” Another commentator writes, “What an incredible gesture of kindness in a time when there just isn’t enough kindness towards each other. #BeKind.”
Not Everyone Is Being Positive
Now, you couldn’t expect everybody to be happy about this situation. A number of people were adamant that this interaction never happened in the first place. Also, a few are insisting that the man was told to pass the ball and didn’t do it out of their own free will. They write, “The guy who scored was directing him to give the ball to the Bucs fan, that part always gets left out.” Another responds, “It was Fournette. He basically stood there and kept gesturing this fan to give it to the Bucs fan like he was trying to give it to.”
Whether or not it was manipulated, the act still happened. One more person writes, “I mean yea he gave him the ball, but he pretty much blew him off afterward with that little hand gesture. Almost like ‘here’s your ball jerk.’”
