Today (Monday, Feb. 22) is National Margarita Day, and what better way to celebrate than with a special cocktail. If you like margaritas, George Strait has a recipe you just might enjoy.
The country music legend shared a special margarita recipe on Monday in honor of the special day via his social media accounts. Of course, the drink includes Código Tequila. The special margarita is inspired by The King of Country and is called the “Ranch Margarita.”
According to a tweet from the singer, the “Ranch Margarita” recipe includes the following ingredients: 2 ounces of Código 1530 Blanco Tequila; .5 ounces of Triple Sec; 1 ounce of lime juice; and .5 ounces of agave nectar. The tweet also includes a photo of George Strait enjoying a really tasty-looking margarita. Check it out below.
Fans of George Strait appear happy to celebrate National Margarita Day as well. “Thank you George I’ll have a margarita!” one fan posted on Twitter in response to the tweeted recipe.
“I knew there was something I needed to do after work, Happy Margarita day to you!!!” another said. “Ranch Margarita it is!” one fan shared. There was also this tweet: “Great picture! Love you George!”
George Strait Shares Love of Tequila Through Song
George Strait is a big fan of Código Tequila. In fact, he likes it so much that he is an investor in the brand. He became an investor in the tequila company during 2017. He also even recorded a song about the tequila; it was appropriately titled “Código.”
Lyrics of the song include: “The perfect recipe / Baby, you and me / The secret’s been found / Let’s pour one right nowI’m talkin’ ’bout Codigo / I take it with me everywhere I go / Best tequila, baby, don’t you know / A little sip and you’re ready to roll / They make it down in Mexico / A little state called Jalisco / Where the beautiful agaves grow / I’m talkin’ ’bout Codigo.”

The King of Country Celebrates Another Special Day During Month of February
In addition to celebrating National Margarita Day on Feb. 22, George Strait celebrated another special day earlier this month. That day was Valentine’s Day and in honor of the annual holiday, the singer shared a playlist of his popular love songs on Apple Music.
There are some truly great love songs on the 23-track playlist. So, it’s definitely worth the download. Possibly the most popular is Strait’s classic “I Cross My Heart.”
Other love songs included on the special Apple Music playlist are “I Just Want to Dance With You,” “Run,” “It Just Comes Natural,” “Blue Clear Sky,” “River of Love,” “One Night at a Time,” and “Love’s Gonna Make It Alright,” “The Man in Love With You,” and “Let’s Fall to Pieces Together.”
