From one cowboy to another – George Strait is one handsome man. The country icon is giving off major John Dutton vibes in his latest photo.
John Dutton, is that you? Any fan of George Strait – or Yellowstone – would be forgiven for mistaking this photo either way. Sporting what has become an iconic look for Costner’s character John Dutton, George Strait is getting back to his roots.
“Always a cowboy,” the legend says in his Instagram posts. With a classic black cowboy hat almost identical to Dutton’s, the comparison becomes immediate. In addition, Strait sports a blue button down, much like John Dutton in nearly every episode of Yellowstone. And no cowboy is complete without a pair of jeans and oversized western belt buckle, of course.
Those wishing to criticize Strait for not being a true “cowboy”, however, will need to do their research.
According to country radio station WCCQ, George Strait isn’t only a rancher himself – but comes from a long line of authentic cowboys.
“George Strait is giving fans a look into his ranch lifestyle with a new video tour of his South Texas ranch.
Strait, who grew up on his family’s ranch in Pearsall, Texas, would work with his father and brother Buddy on the ranch during the weekends. The 69-year-old, country icon, has another ranch near Cotulla, Texas which is between San Antonio and Laredo.
George’s family ranch has been a part of the Strait family for over 100 years. When Strait isn’t touring or making music he still works on the ranches and participates in his annual George Strait Team Roping Classic.” – WCCQ
Podcast Country Fancast has a full tour of Strait’s ranch on Youtube, which you can view below.
As for John Dutton… well, as any Strait fan will tell you – this cowboy’s been rockin’ this look for decades. If anything, John Dutton looks like George Strait – and not the other way around.
