One of the greatest country music artists to ever step up to a microphone, George Strait is hosting another Honky Tonk Hangout Contest.
The kind of country is holding the contest in remembrance of his 16th solo studio album “Clear Blue Sky.” The album was made available for public consumption on April 23, 1996, and became a big hit for George Strait. It peaked at the top overall spot in the U.S. Billboard Top Country Albums Chart and produced four hit singles. It includes hit songs like “King of the Mountain,” “Blue Clear Sky” and “Carried Away.” The U.K. version of the album includes a hit from a previous album, “Check Yes or No” as a bonus track.
George Strait took to social media on Saturday to share with fans he will be celebrating 25 years since the album’s release. As he has on several other occasions, the legendary country singer and songwriter will hold a contest for his fans. The “Honky Tonk Hangout” contests have become quite popular among fans of the music industry icon.
“Out of the Blue Clear Sky, we bring you another Honky Tonk Hangout contest!” he writes in the post’s caption. “Be sure to join George Strait’s Honky Tonk Hangout Facebook group by April 26 for the chance to win.”
The post then provides a link to where George Strait fans can join his Facebook group. The social media page goes into further details about how to enter the contest and the rules. The Honky Tonk Hangout Facebook group boasts more than 35,000 members. Strait often holds contests for his fans on the anniversary of dates that are important to him. Just last month, he held a similar contest to celebrate the release of his latest release “Honky Tonk Time Machine.”
The 68-year-old George Strait is one of the best-selling and influential country artists of all time. His accolades stack up against not only any country music artist but also any artist in any genre. He has sold over 100 million albums worldwide over the span of his decades-long career. It doesn’t appear he has thoughts of slowing down anytime soon as he is as active as ever on social media and in interacting with his huge fan base.
