George Strait Joins Reba McEntire and Alabama’s Randy Owen in Epic Throwback Thursday Picture

by Clayton Edwards

Standing in a room with one country music icon is a dream for many fans of the genre. For instance, thousands of people would lose their cool if they were able to stand shoulder-shoulder with someone like Reba, Randy Owen, or George Strait. However, Strait posted a photo earlier today of the three of them together. That’s a whole lot of star power in one photo.

There’s a good reason there is so much star power in one photo, though. The picture is from the 1993 Academy of Country Music Awards, according to the ACM website. The place was jam-packed with the biggest names in the genre. However, these three are pretty much the cream of the crop. This is especially true for that year. In the early nineties, country music didn’t get much better than George Strait, Reba McEntire, and Alabama. Come to think of it, that statement still holds true today. Check out the epic throwback photo below.

In the photo, Randy Owen, Reba, and George Strait are all sporting smiles. They’re also all holding hard-won awards. They may not have known it then, but they had more to smile about than the shiny statues. They were all well on their way to being legends.

George Strait, Reba, And Alabama All In One Place

George Strait, Reba, and Alabama are all titans in the world of country music. They’ve been winning armloads of awards and selling stacks of records for decades. None of them show any signs of stopping anytime soon.

George Strait is about to kick off a Las Vega residency. On top of that, tickets for his 2022 show at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo sold out in a heartbeat. Fans can’t get enough of his neotraditional country style and his golden voice. So, this legend is going to be around for a good long time.

Alabama is one of the biggest bands in country music history. They’ll be kicking off two nights of shows at Music City’s Bridgestone Arena tomorrow night (July 2nd). They’re doing this as part of a nationwide 50th-anniversary tour.

Reba McEntire isn’t just resting on her laurels. She played in front of a huge crowd at the Grand Ole Opry last month. However, she’s not stopping there. Her 2022 tour kicks off in January. The Oklahoma-born country music icon will be rocking stages all across the nation after the new year.

Many faces come and go in the world of country music. It seems like a new voice pops up in the conversation every day. However, few have the staying power of these three artists. At the same time, we wouldn’t have many of the artists we love today without this powerful trio. The influence of Alabama, George Strait, and Reba McEntire is immeasurable.
