George Strait Puts Texas Mansion Back on the Market: Tour the Incredible $7.5 Million Home

by Joe Rutland

Country singer-songwriter George Strait is putting his Texas mansion back on the market with another reduced price for someone who wants it.

Strait is listing his San Antonio, Texas-area home for $7.5 million.

The home was put together by the handiwork of Arizona architect Bill Tull. The hilltop estate offers a real prime level of privacy for anyone interested.

The residence, which is 7,925 square feet in length, has a castle-like look to it.

Strait must have wanted a place not only for family but friends visiting, too. Consider the size of his primary residence: four full bathrooms and two half-bathrooms. Inside each bedroom, there is an en-suite bathroom and a fireplace.

George Strait Mansion Sits On 12.2 Acres Of Land

Toss in a sports court, workout room with a private bathroom and sauna, and other amenities, too. That’ll make someone’s day when looking at the “Amarillo By Morning” singer’s home on the market.

If that wasn’t enough to get your pocketbook out, then know that the Strait home is on 12.2 acres of land. There is a separate “casita” guest house with its own bedroom, bathroom, living room, kitchenette, and a fireplace in it. In other words, it can provide a whole other world for someone who wants privacy on top of privacy.

Now the mansion originally had a $10 million price tag on it in 2018, then it was dropped to $8.9 million in 2019.

Set aside some time and take a look inside the place George Strait has called home within the Dominion area of San Antonio.

Strait Quite Proud Of His Only Son Called ‘Bubba’

While he’s waiting for his home to be sold, it’s worth noting that George Strait has a love for both country music and the rodeo. Who knew? Well, his longtime fans know that both are passions of this country music legend.

He shares these with his son George Strait Jr., who goes by the nickname “Bubba.”

Strait Jr. was born on May 14, 1981. He fond a passion as a pro rodeo cowboy, eventually joining the Pro Rodeo Cowboys Association as a bull rider.

As for country music, Strait Jr. loves to perform occasionally with his father. But he’s been leaning more toward the songwriting side of the business. He has more than 30 songs to his credit, many of them appearing on his father’s albums over the years.

Strait Jr. attended Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. He also has a son, too, so it might not be the case of an apple falling far from the tree if his son turns toward being a pro rodeo. Who knows? He might even get the itch to join the country music world. If that’s the case, then he’ll have a father and grandfather to guide his course.
