Taking a Look at George Strait’s Playlist

If you’ve ever wanted to know what George Strait might have on his playlist, well now’s your chance. The iconic county music singer’s sharing 25 of his biggest hits on a Youtube created playlist. Below are the top five songs that kick-off the soundtrack.

1. Troubadour

“Troubador” was the 86th chart single of Strait’s career. The song was nominated for Best Male Country Vocal Performance at the 2009 Grammy Awards. Fun fact: Vince Gill sings background vocals on the single.

2. I Saw God Today

“I Saw God Today” became the country star’s 43rd number one hit on the “Billboard” Hot Country Songs chart. The song is about different ways you can see God in everyday life.

3. River of Love

This upbeat song uses a river as a metaphor for love. This single also topped the “Billboard” Hot Country Songs chart in 2008.

4. Honk if You Honky Tonk

“Honk if You Honky Tonk” has the perfect beat for two-stepping. This song’s about having a good time.

5. Give It Away

This twangy hit is Strait’s 41st No. 1 single on the “Billboard” Hot Country Songs chart, setting a new record for most No. 1 singles on that chart. This song, although it’s catchy tempo, is about a couple that’s breaking up and giving away their once shared belongings.

The playlist continues on with more classics from Strait, like “How ‘Bout Them Cowgirls,” “Carrying Your Love With Me,” and “Check Yes or No.”
