George Strait is the King of Country Music. Unsurprisingly, he has also raked in several ACM Awards over the course of his career. In fact, he holds the record for most wins as well as nominations at the ACM Awards. His wins include Album of the Year, Top Male Vocalist, and Entertainer of the Year. Strait has even won Movie of the Year. In short, he has seen the ACM stage a time or two.

The 2021 ACM Awards show is set to kick off in just a few hours. With that in mind, George Strait shared some photos from his previous appearances on the show with his Twitter followers this afternoon. He only shared four photos, though. Probably because the native Texan tries to stay humble. On the other hand, it could be that Twitter just couldn’t handle the amount of stone-cold country awesomeness that would have been a full collection of photos featuring King George at the awards show.

Either way, the photos are a nice reminder of how important and lauded George Strait really is. Along with the collection of photos, Strait posed an important question to his fans.

George wants to know who will be tuning in to watch the show tonight.

George Strait’s Long History of ACM Wins

Strait has won nineteen ACM Awards and has been nominated 81 times over the course of his four-decade-long career. He has won single and song of the year several times. Most recently, he took home the Cliffie Stone Icon Award in 2017.

George Strait took home his first ACM Award in 1985. That year, he won Top Male Vocalist. He won that award again the next year along with Album of the Year for Does Fort Worth Ever Cross Your Mind. Strait would go on to take both of those trophies two more times.

George Strait was awarded the CMA Award for Entertainer of the Year for the first time in 1989. He would take home that award one more time in 2014. Even more impressive, Strait was named Artist of the Decade in 2009.

Strait also won the Tex Ritter Best Movie Award at the 1993 ACMs for Pure Country. In 2003, the Academy of Country Music gave George Strait special recognition for charting fifty number-one singles.

In short, George Strait is pretty familiar with the ACM Awards. He’s a titan of country music and the Academy has taken notice several times over the years.
