“The greatest gift ever given” to Jake Owen was his daughter, Pearl, according to the man himself in his beautiful tribute to her for her 8th birthday.
For fans of country sensation Jake Owen, it may be hard to believe that his daughter is already 8 years old. Tiny Pearl has seen many of her dad’s concerts and is responsible for his best posts on social media by far. Including this one:
Yes, that is a handwritten letter to Jake Owen from little Ms. Pearl. “I love my dad” is the most legible, sure, but the rest is written with such childlike-passion and fervor that it’s hard not to get choked up looking at this! “He is so nice to me,” Pearl continues. “He is the best… I love him so much,” she adds in-between some of the best misspellings of school subjects I’ve ever seen in my life.

This note, however, is not the reason we’re here today. Today – today is Pearl’s 8th birthday! And Jake Owen has posted the sweetest tribute for his daughter.
Posting to Instagram today, said tribute from Owen is going viral simply for how sweet it is. And the fact that the unfairly-handsome man includes an adorable photo with tiny Pearl doesn’t hurt, either.
“The greatest gift ever given to me was the love of a daughter,” Owen starts off in his tribute. “8 years flew by in a flash. We are now 8 years away from her hopping in a car and saying, “see ya later, Dad!”…” he adds. This is unreal to think about! Eight years have passed for Pearl – and in another stretch of the same time she’ll be legally driving cars. Shouldn’t that be impossible??
“I’m so proud of this little girl. She is so kind, loving and absolutely hilarious,” he continues. “Did I mention she’s wayyyyy more of a rockstar that her ol’ Dad? I’m cool with that. She opened my eyes 8 years ago today, to a world I never knew existed. She made me a father and that’s the coolest “gig” I could ever have. (See what I did there?)”
Through all this, it is beyond clear how powerful their bond and love is.
“I love you Pearl,” he ends. “I can’t wait to see what the next 8 years have in store for us. Just slow it down a little bit okay?! Happy 8th Birthday.”
