Musician Jameson Rodgers recently teamed up with country star, Luke Combs to release “Cold Beer Calling My Name.”
Rodgers posted a photo on Twitter from the music video. Along with a photo of himself and Combs, Rodgers writes “Bringing beer to a town near you.”
How Did Jameson Rodgers and Luke Combs Meet?
After a few years of writing songs and trying to make a name for himself, Rodgers received a message from ReverbNation in 2004. The message led to a publishing deal that put Rodgers in rooms with some of the greatest performers in Nashville. In 2016 Rodgers met Combs. Although Combs had a following, he hadn’t quote skyrocketed to fame the way he soon would. The two hit it off, and Rodgers began touring with Combs soon after. As Combs grew in fame, he brought Rodgers along with him. The two finally decided to collaborate on a song this year.
The Duo’s Bond Was Created Through Cold Beer
Rodgers wrote “Cold Beer Calling My Name” with Hunter Phelps, Brett Tyler, and Alysa Vanderheym. Once the song was complete, Rodgers knew a fellow “cold beer drinker” would be a perfect fit for the song.
“It’s a fun, easy song, and I thought it’d be cool to have someone on it. And at the time, I was out with Luke Combs,” says Rodgers. “I asked Luke if he’d like to sing on it. I know he’s a cold beer drinker like myself. And, luckily, it worked out, and I’m excited for everybody to hear it,” says Rodgers.
During the song, the duo sings, “There’s a cold beer calling my name. Feel a good time coming. Got a new song humming.” With the year we’ve all had, I think we can all related.
