Jason Aldean blasts Instagram for censoring a Veteran’s Day post he made. In the since-deleted tweet, Aldean honored the military and service members with a quote attributed to Abraham Lincoln.
In his new Instagram post, Aldean fired at the social media company for its censorship. He wrote, “LET ME TRY THIS AGAIN!! Thank you to all our veterans past and present. My father, grandfather and numerous other family members have served in the military over the years to help keep our country safe and protect our FREEDOM!”
Aldean continued his post, calling out Instagram: “I don’t know, and will never support any person or organization that threatens to take that away from us. The fact that we can be censored (which happened to my original post) is proof alone that we need to protect our first amendment.”
He promised to always speak up for “veterans, their bravery, and what they’ve done for this amazing country.”

In the original post, the 43-year-old singer posted a photo with a quote from Lincoln. The post said, “‘America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we lose our freedoms it will be because we have destroyed ourselves from within.’ — Abraham Lincoln.”
Instagram flagged Aldean’s post as “false” afterward. The social media used a previous USA Today fact check that claimed Lincoln never actually said the phrase. So far his post has reached thousands of followers who responded with heart and American flag emojis.
This isn’t the first time a social media platform has been accused of censoring a person’s post. Duck Dynasty star Al Robertson criticized Twitter for blocking a tweet related to Joe Biden and his son Hunter. Recently, Tim Allen called out the media platform for censoring people’s tweets as well.
