Intimidated is probably a natural reaction when Jason Isbell found himself standing “eye-to-chin” with Tennessee Titans monstrous running back Derrick Henry.

In a hilarious tweet from today, the 41-year-old country artist recalls the moment he met the 26-year-old running back.

“Once at a college game, I stood eye-to-chin with Derrick Henry (I’m 6’1”) while he did pregame warmups, and I thought “If this guy can cut, he’s gonna run all over everybody for a long time.” He could cut.”

Oh, he can cut, Jason Isbell.

Derrick Henry

Standing at 6’3’ and weighing in at 247 pounds, Derrick Henry is a force to be reckoned with. Said to be too large to be a running back at the collegiate level, he proved naysayers wrong by having the best season in SEC history as a junior. That year he rushed for 2,219 yards and 28 touchdowns. Henry also helped Alabama win a national championship the same year.

As the Heisman winner in 2015, the Alabama player was drafted in the second round at 45th overall to the Tennessee Titans.

Henry has 12 touchdowns and 1317 rushing yards so far this season for the Titans.

Throughout his five-year career in the NFL, Derrick Henry has rushed for 5,150 yards and 50 touchdowns.
