Once again, Jimmy Buffett is taking fans back in time with his classically cool throwback photos.
On Wednesday, the “Margaritaville” singer posted an old school photo to Twitter, pairing it with lyrics from his song “Lady I Can’t Explain.”
“I’ll just keep on moving
When the forecast calls for rain
You just keep on being The lady I can’t explain”
The post also includes a photo of Jimmy Buffett alongside his girlfriend and now wife, Jane Slagsvol.
In the post, the two parrot-head love birds are leaning on the back of a car, both rocking ’70s style aviator sunglasses.
During Slagsvol’s college spring break, the two met when she traveled from the University of South Carolina to Key West. It was an immediate connection between the two since they were married the following year.
Tieing the knot in the same spot where it all began, Buffett and Slagsvol got married in Key West on Aug. 27, 1977.
Jimmy Buffett’s Song To His Wife
While traveling on the road in California, Buffett wrote one of his signature songs, “Come Monday,” for Slagsvol about missing her while he was gone. She even had a starring role in the music video, which she did for free since there was no budget.
“Come Monday, it’ll all be alright.
Come Monday, I’ll be holding you tight.
I spent four lonely days in brown L.A haze.
And I just want you back by my side”
The song was first released on his album Living & Dying in ¾ Time in 1974 and was his first “Top 40” hit single. The song reached No. 30 on the “Billboard Hot 100” and No. 3 “Easy Listening.”
To this day, the couple remains married, and together they have three children: Sarah Delaney Buffett, Savannah Jane Buffett, and Cameron Marley.
While the Buffetts are a somewhat private couple, you can still experience a little bit of what they built by visiting one of their Margaritaville resorts.
The Orlando location even has the singer’s famous seaplane, Hemisphere Dancer, that fans can visit.
