The eldest daughter of country music legend Johnny Cash took to social media on Friday evening to reminisce about her last live show.
Rosanne Cash played her last live show a year ago yesterday. It’s obvious that she misses performing in front of her fans. Nowadays she takes to her official social media accounts to interact with them and share updates on her life.
And on Friday, she shared a bit of an emotional moment, remembering the last time she performed live in concert. She even says that she can remember the exact moment when the governor called a state of emergency.
“I played my last show a year ago tomorrow, in Boise,” Rosanne Cash wrote on Twitter. “The governor called a state of emergency that afternoon, a sold-out show turned into a half-full house, and we had a surreal end-of-the-world-party/concert. We came back to NYC the next morning & I haven’t seen you guys since.”

Fans definitely shared the same emotion as the daughter of the infamous Johnny Cash. Rosanne Cash’s tweet racked up more than 1,400 likes since being posted online. One of her followers says she was among the attendees of the last live show. And she doesn’t regret it one bit.
“I wasn’t sure it made sense to go, but I’m glad we were among those who did,” @MaryRohlfing wrote. “Such an odd night seeing so many friends & giving only elbow bumps. Eerie and ethereal. Thank you for sending us into the dark year with something akin to hope that we might persevere. We have.”
One fan on Twitter even replied to Johnny Cash’s daughter with a joke.
“I’m not sure I follow,” they responded. “The governor declared a state of emergency because you were playing or…?”
Cash must have found humor in the response. She simply responded, “Well yeah.”
Other fans of Rosanne Cash shared their favorite pre-COVID concert memories. Diane Malfeld (@DianeMalfeld) left a message saying, “The last concert that I attended was the Rosanne Cash and John Levanthal concert at the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis in February 2020. It was one of the best concerts I have attended – right up there with Rosanne Cash with the MN Orchestra.”
It seems pretty clear at this point that not only does Rosanne Cash miss her fans, her fans miss her even more.
